Ahhhhhh the smell of REAL Spring!!!! Had the windows open again today. Fresh air and birds singing. Loving it!!!! I worked on the front yard Saturday to get the beds ready for flowers and I started to add some of my architectural features to the garden as well.  Thought I would share a little of the progress to the full summer garden.

Put some fresh white paint on some of my garden clay pots for the potting table decor.

Got my bike painted blue for out in the garden.  I  think I am going with a white, blue and yellow theme out front this year.

I can't wait to put flowers in that sweet bike basket and hopefully find another basket for flowers for the back fender of this bike too.  My beds are ready.  It doesnot look like it now but I do have a lot of flowering bushy flowers that will come up around the bike.  Hopefully soon they will start to fill in.

Getting ready for flowers out around my tree in the front yard.  Oh I can't wait to get my hands in that dirt and start to put flowers in!!!

My little cherub bird bath is ready for some pretty flowers too.

Looks a little plain right now but soon I will have lot's of flowers.

This is probably my most favorite architectural piece I have for the garden.  An old chippy door painted with birds and cottage nests and then an old chippy flower box attached. Can't wait to fill that with pretty flowers and greenery.

Made an blue and white cottage wreath.

Found these cute garden boots at Menards. Loved the blue color.

Yep I am thinking I like the summer house sign on this old fence.

I found this summer house sign at Home Goods.  Loved this sign. I tried it out on the potting table too but I think I like it better on the fence.

Well this was a sneak preview of the garden to come.  I was so excited that we are having such pretty weather finally to start to plan out the garden.
Hopeful this week end to start the planting and maybe work on the deck and backyard too.
Have a great week.  Hope you are having beautiful weather where you are.
Kris

  4. I can't begin to tell you how cute your front yard is with all of your unique touches! Just like the inside of your home, it says "you"!! It's going to be even more beautiful when things are blooming and lush...I wish our weather would warm up faster but we always wait until after Mother's Day to plant annuals. Better safe than get a frost. And it WAS gorgeous today and will be this way all week! Enjoy!

  10. Everything is ready and waiting.

You gave me an idea- I have an old grapevine wreath in the garage and a grapevine basket in the attic. I might even spray them white.

Yesterday it finally hit me that my source for an old door could be my neighbor. He owns the biggest door and window shop in town. He says he thinks he has just the door for me. I didn't even think about asking for windows. That's next. When I told him I wanted to hang the door sideways above my dresser he just shook his head. I should have him look at your blog for him to understand.

  12. Oh Kris...I love how you have decorated your front yard!! Seeing your bike makes me hope that I find one at the flea market...it's only 3 weeks away now. There are around 2000 vendors at this huge flea market and it is only 15 to 20 minutes from here. They have it in May and again in September. Can't wait!!

  21. Kris, you are way ahead of me. I started putting things out Easter weekend and haven't done much more since then. I am not a gardener, so I will be looking for ornaments and 'junk' to put out. Maybe your house will inspire me to get busy. Thank you so much, dear friend.

  33. Kris! This is just absolutely adorable. I love it! Such a wonderful collection of cuteness for your yard. I am crazy about the blue bike, and I think flowers would be perfect in the basket. I had a blue bike when I was young, and I was my favorite bike I ever had. Love the blue wellies, too. This yard would make me smile every time I saw it.

I could have sworn I stopped by here and left you a comment, but I can't find it. Not sure why. My IPAD has been acting up, and I'm on my husband's IPAD. But I wouldn't have missed this for anything.

    Thanks for sharing...
